  • November 24th | Discipline Worksheets due. For those writing essays, please include your first and last name, and your current belt rank. Essays should be one page, 12-14 pt, double spacing ok. Incomplete essays and worksheets will not be accepted.

Combination – Side Kick
         Month 1:
         Start with left leg in front and hands up by chin (left guarding block)
         Hop forward left front punch / right reverse punch / turn right heel / side kick with left leg.
        Month 2:
        Start with right leg in front and hands up by chin (right guarding block)
        Hop forward right front punch / left reverse punch / turn left heel / side kick with right leg.

Self Defense – Shell (No Punches)
        Protect your head – “Comb back your hair”
        Left hand brushes past left side of head, arm is bent, elbow forward, bent arm protects left side of head
        Right hand brushes past right side of head, arm is bent, elbow forward, bent arm protects right side of head

Universal Form
          Start “Universal Ready Position”
          left hand up, palm facing in, right fist sits on the palm of left hand
         MONTH 1:

  1. Step out to the left side – left back fist, l-stance
  2. Right reverse punch – twist back heel off the ground
  3. Slide left foot to right foot, feet together, step out to the right side – right back fist, l-stance
  4. Left reverse punch – twist back heel off the ground
  5. Slide right foot to left foot, feet together, palms up by chest
    MONTH 2:
  6. Step back right leg, high section x block, walking stance, right hand on top of x-block
  7. Stay in same stance as #9 and low section x-block, walking stance, left hand on top of x-block
  8. Left front kick – both hands up by chin
  9. Left knife hand block – one hand by chin
  10. Right reverse punch – one hand by chin
  11. Hug – Kung-fu stance – hug – both palms up, left hand inside, low section knife hand block, right knife hand block over head

        Up to shoulder, then swing forward and trap nunchuck under right arm
        Swing nunchuck back to shoulder, swing nunchucks to front.
 Immediately repeat on left side
        Step forward left foot, into walking stance, fold nunchucks to left shoulder
        3x circles forward, to left thigh
        Up to left shoulder, then swing forward and trap nunchuck under left arm.
        Swing nunchuck back to left shoulder,
Step forward into ready stance, with  nunchucks out in front
        Step back right foot, into walking stance, fold nunchucks to right shoulder
        3x circles backward, up to right shoulder, trap with left hand under right
       Bring nunchucks out to front

Form – Do San
        Meaning:  DO-SAN is the pseudonym of the patriot Ahn Chang-Ho (1876-1938) The 24 movements represent his  entire life which           he devoted to furthering the education of Korea and its independence movement.

        Ready    Parallel Ready Stance
        MONTH 1:
        1.            Step out to the left, left outer forearm block, left walking stance
        2.            Stay in left walking stance, right reverse punch
        3.            Step a little, step a lot, right walking stance, right outer forearm block
        4.            Stay in right walking stance, left reverse punch
        5.            Move left foot in and out towards the front, left knife hand guarding block, right l-stance
        6.            Step forward, right walking stance, right vertical fingertip thrust
        7.            Pivot on right foot, move left foot turning counter clockwise, form left walking stance, left backfist
        8.            Step forward, right walking stance, right backfist
        MONTH 2:
        9.            Move left foot turning counter clockwise, form left walking stance, left outer forearm block
        10.          Stay in left walking stance, right reverse punch

        13.         Move left foot in and out 45 degrees, form left walking stance, wedging block
        14.          Right back leg front kick

        17.          Move right foot in and out to the other side, 45 degrees, right walking stance, wedging block
        18.          Left back leg front kick
        19.          Lower left foot, form a left walking stance, left mid section punch
       20.          Stay in left walking stance, left mid section punch
       21.          Move left foot in and out, form left walking stance, left raising block
       22.          Step forward, right walking stance, right raising block
       23.          Pivot on right foot, turning counter clockwise, forming sitting stance, left outward knife hand strike
       24.          Foot to foot, sitting stance, right outward knife hand strike
       END:      Bring the right foot back to a ready posture.

Grappling  (Masters Club)
       Month 1:
       Back sweep from guard – begin closed guard – Partners jumps up to standing position. Students grabs outside of partners heels,               unlock feet and drop hips to ground. Secure heels, pull heels and lift hips and drop heels to ground forcing partner to ground. Student            base with one arm out to the side, other arm cup neck. Drive forward by moving the right over right knee. Finish in mount.

Combination – Spinning Reverse Turning Kick
        Month 1:
        Start with left leg in front and hands up by chin (left guarding block)
        Hop forward left front punch / right reverse punch / step forward right leg
Turn your back to opponent, left leg extends as in a side kick, misses target, then continue the turn with leg extended, hitting target with left heel. 

        Left leg is now in front.
        Turn with back to opponent, right leg extends before target as if in side kick, continue turn with leg extended to hit target with right heel.
Finish in right guarding block

         Month 2:
        Start with right leg in front and hands up by chin (right guarding block)
        Hop forward right front punch / left reverse punch / step forward left leg
Turn your back to opponent, right leg extends as in a side kick, misses target, then continue the turn with leg extended, hitting target          with right heel. 

       Right leg is now in front.
Turn with back to opponent, left leg extends before target as if in side kick, continue turn with leg extended to hit target with left heel.
Finish in left guarding block

Self Defense – Shell (With Punches)

        Left hand brushes past left side of head, arm is bent, elbow forward, bent arm protects left side of head. Punch with right

Form – Yul-Gok
        Meaning: This form is named after the philosopher and scholar Yi I, nicknamed the “Confucious of Korea” The 38 movements in the     pattern represent his birthplace on the 38 degree latitude. The Diagram ( ) represents scholar.
        Moves 38
        Start Ready Stance
        MONTH 1:
       1. Move the left foot, aim with left hand
       2. Right mid section punch
       3. Left mid section punch                 Perform 2 and 3 in a fast motion.
       4. Bring the left foot to the right foot and then move the right foot to a sitting stance, extend right fist
       5. Left mid section punch
       6. Right mid section punch               Perform 5 and 6 in a fast motion
       7. Move right foot, form right walking stance, right inner forearm block
       8. Left back leg front kick, lower leg in front
       9. Left mid section punch, left walking stance
       10. Right mid section punch, left walking stance    Perform 9 and 10 in a fast motion
       11. Slide left leg in and back out, left walking stance, left inner forearm block
       12. Right back leg front kick, lower the leg in front
       13. Right mid section punch, right walking stance
       14. Left mid section punch, right walking stance  Perform 13 and 14 in a fast motion
       15. Right hooking block, right walking stance
       16. Left hooking block, maintain right walking stance

       28. Twin knife hand block, form a right l-stance
       29. Step forward into right walking stance, right finger tip thrust
       30. Move right foot in and out to the other side, form a left l-stance, twin knife hand block

       32. Move left foot in and out into a left walking stance, left outer forearm block
       33. Right mid section punch, maintain left walking stance
       34. Step forward, right walking stance, right outer forearm block

       37. Pivot, right walking stance, right double forearm block
